In the SatNav Forum which was organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) during this year’s Cebit trade show in Hannover, the European future satellite based navigation system “Galileo” took a centre stage. Nevertheless the exhibition showcased GIS technologies and GIS applications as well. Bitmanagement took the opportunity to present its viewer technology for 3D visualization of Geo referenced applications. Bitmanagement evaluated the Cebit exhibition 2011 referring to own company very positive. “The Cebit 2011 again proved to be an important place for setting trends and to develop customer contacts also for 3D software provider like Bitmanagement. The Cebit has sent us a clear message from customers. What they ask for is to get tools to realize real time and online ready applications on mobile devices increasingly also in the GIS area”, said Bitmanagement.

For that purpose Bitmanagement Software GmbH, Berg near Munich, Germany, the 3D software developer has presented its client technology as visualization component BS Contact Geo to be integrated into interactive online applications in the large area of Geo Information based systems (GIS). Such applications include online ready GIS data, interactive scenery walkthrough tools, portals and city models or flight over terrain function.

Seeing the increasing trend for mobile devices and its market coverage Bitmanagement has extended its 3D viewer technology also for mobile GIS application by porting BS Contact Geo into ipads and tablet PCs.

Last application for Geo solutions apply the new global city portal “visitcity” which now will shows images in fully 3D. For that reason Bitmanagement has integrated its software into the city portal. Using this platform for instance municipalities, companies, small factories and service provider like hotels, restaurants or pharmacies can inform about its products and services in the German speaking countries Austria, Switzerland and Germany very detailed. It also includes interactive 2D/3D visualization of POIs (Points of Interests).

Geo applications based on the BS Contact viewer are also widely spread over different countries. Beside a number of further examples like Czechoslovakia, France, Spain, Italy or Shanghai, the Environmental Protection Department (EDP) in Hong Kong has realized an ESRI technology based application for three dimensional visualization of environmental influences. ESRI is the German based leading provider of complete GIS and mapping software systems.
